Everyone better thank their employer. With our nighttime premium and yearly bonus before overtime our average compensation is around $100000

It might be better to shoot the Unifor locals that negotiated their last contract a thank you note first.
Afterall, we wouldn't receive a competitive compensation package, without the competition negotiating a better compensation package.

$100k a year may seem high, but consider that its value has dropped due to factors like inflation. 100k today equals to about $50,000 ten years ago. 100k ten years ago equates to roughly $200,000 today. So, while $100,000 seems significant, its purchasing power has declined. Speak to someone from
a bank to see the mortgage amount you can qualify for with a $100,000 income and 20% down payment . you might find fewer options than expected.

You have some valid points but look around you the job market you’re not gonna find anything like this. It’s a great wage the hundred thousand is also before overtime. You can easily make $120,000 here now and even with things being so expensive if you can’t live off 120,000+ most people have a partner and their income you need to cut back on your expenses.

Well a 100k salary is quite good, especially if you’re in the tri city area. Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge. Home prices have come down the past two years. There are plenty of home buying opportunities around $650-800k. Also having good credit and savings help with buying property. Please remember that as much as auto workers complain about there quality of life being so terrible because of working shifts and most people here seem to think we deserve much more. Reality is we’re factory workers and we’re all compensated very well.

I'd much rather a better insurance company for benefits and pension like Sunlife than a few more pennies for Carney

Thank you Unifor for negotiating a great contract with the D3, otherwise we'd be still at the wages from 5 years ago.
